School Mission Statement
'Love your neighbour as yourself.'
Luke 10:27

Dear Parents and Carers,
Today we celebrated our harvest festival. Thank you for all of the donations you have sent in. We will arrange for these to be sent to the Charles Thompson Mission later on in the week. Harvest is a time when children enjoy celebrating their appreciation of the world they live in and it also helps them realise our school Mission statement of “Love your neighbour as yourself”.
Communication with School
Now that I am more mobile and able to walk, I will be on the playground before school most days or by the front gate. I am always happy to chat and answer any questions or worries you or your child might have. The class teachers also have a year group email. This is designed for mainly one-way non-urgent communication and is usually only read during working hours. If you have anything that is time sensitive it is always best to phone or email the school office.
Cut you Carbon
Yesterday Mr Conroy and Mrs Ross shared the 'Cut Your Carbon' November national challenge with the children during Collective Worship. The aim is to help children feel empowered to do something about climate change in a fun and positive way. The Eco and Ethos Ambassadors will calculate the carbon emission save that we have made as a school community at the end of November. The challenge fits well with our vision; our Climate Action Plan and our Eco school status.
Academy Update
A few weeks ago, the school Governors voted to join the Chester Diocese Academy Trust (CDLT). This has been a long and careful process. It is anticipated that we will be joining the Trust in November. As previously shared, you will notice little difference in the day to day running of the school. The school remains ambitious for all of the children and families we serve. The main changes will be that St. Bridget’s will be part of a family of schools working together. Some of these schools are local such as St. Andrew’s and Hoylake CE Primary and some partner schools will be from Cheshire which will add to the richness of our collaboration. Nearly all of the other schools in the local area are now part of a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) and the decision to join a Trust has been timely for St. Bridget’s to develop new partnerships.
Attendance letter and updated fines
Please follow the link for the updated information about attendance and fines. Attendance is a national priority and schools are under increasing pressure to increase attendance and reduce non-authorised absence. At St. Bridget’s we always aim to work with parents but please be aware the circumstances for authorised absence continue to narrow. Link to LA letter
