Musical Minds is an organisation dedicated to developing children’s knowledge, skills and understanding of music. We aim to achieve this through energetic and engaging lessons, both in the classroom and one-to-one teaching environment. Our methods lead to all pupils learning, achieving and having fun in equal measure.

Learning To play the Drums with Mr Evans

Drum lessons at St Bridget's are given on a weekly basis and have proved to be very popular. In past terms year 6 pupils have studied for the grade 4 drum kit exam offered by 'Trinity College, London' which is a significant achievement. Many pupils learn just for the enjoyment it brings to them however and play along to music tracks of well known songs on the school drum kit.

Developing pupils talents is something very much encouraged by the school and many pupils have the opportunity to play drum kit in assembly and the staff are always very supportive. On line video's of some of the drum kit 'pieces' that pupils learn at school are available and the drum tutor, Mr Evans, posts links to parents of these pieces. This encourages pupils to practice at home and helps them remember lesson content.

Mr Evans has a degree in music from Goldsmiths College, University of London and runs a local drumming band that play at events and carnivals.
