In Year 6 this term we are excited to be delving deeply into social justice with a particular focus on migration, equality and diversity. We will be using the powerful focus text of A Long Walk to Water.
In history we will consider the Anglo Saxon and Viking struggle for power and consider key questions about the Viking impact on Britain.
We will be comparing the diversity of the world’s biomes whilst deepening our geographical knowledge of the world-both human and physical. Through our study we hope to gain a greater understanding about the discrepancy in life expectancy, educational opportunities and quality of life in different parts of the world.
Our STEM work will include the chance to work with microbits to create an 'operation' style board game. Science presents us with the opportunity to learn about the circulatory system in a very practical way when Hi-Impact come in to help us carry out a heart dissection. It will be a very busy term and we can't wait to begin.
