REVERSE ADVENT CALENDAR
Dear Parents and Carers,
This year, to celebrate advent, we are giving every year group a WIRRAL FOODBANK ADVENT CALENDAR. Christmas can be a really difficult time for people and families. For people who find themselves homeless at this time. For those managing on a tight budget, the added expense of Christmas coupled with fuel bills can send people into crisis, having to choose between food or fuel. As a school, we would like to support people locally, through the Wirral food bank, by donating them our boxes of goodies.
Wirral food bank sent us an email, which included this…
‘We have a 30% increase in demand this year compared to last year, so any food you can donate would be much appreciated.
Most of the food that we are collecting is being sent out to our centres immediately after we receive it.’
Each year group will be given a box to fill from the 1st December until the 19th December. We would love it if every child could donate one item during this period.
Together, as a team, we can make a significant difference to those who may be finding it tough this Christmas.
Thank you so much for your ongoing support, we really do appreciate it.
Mrs Natasha Inglis and the Christian Ethos committee
“I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me….Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25 v 35 – 40
