Year 3

Year 3 – Autumn Term

This term, Year 3 will be connecting our exciting curriculum to  ‘Our World’ through a wide range of engaging learning opportunities.

Children will be delving into history by learning about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age, while in science they will be investigating the human body and nutrition. In art, they will study and create cave paintings from around the world, and in PE they will develop their balance and agility through gymnastics as well as their sending and receiving skills through the sport of tennis.

Learning will take place in many different forms, both inside and outside the classroom. Highlights of the term include:

  • A visit to Calderstones Heritage Park

  • Swimming lessons at West Kirby Concourse

  • A Hi-Impact workshop on science and coding

  • Weekly chess sessions to develop problem-solving and critical thinking

Alongside these experiences, children will continue to enhance their learning through art, reading and opportunities for discussion and exploration.

We would also love to involve our school community in this journey. If you feel you have something to contribute to our curriculum connection with 'Our World', please get in touch, we would be delighted for you to share your expertise with us!
