Year 4 Curriculum
This Autumn we are embarking on an exciting voyage of discovery as historians, learning about the life of the Ancient Egyptians and comparing their civilisation to others at the time. Learning about the world, and how the land is used around us, we will follow the lead of the children’s curiosities and intertwine these within our rich curriculum. To excite the children, we will visit the World Museum in Liverpool to experience their workshop sessions, and the Princes Road Synagogue. In addition, we will explore paint, mixed media and sewing in Art and DT.
Within our Science work, we are carrying out investigations to explore the states of matter which make up our surroundings and discovering how sounds occur. Music will be led by Musical Minds, who will teach the children about notation, rhythm, pitch and performance.
Our school mission statement, ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’ and our school values will run throughout our learning.
We hope that you can support your child by researching any aspect of Ancient Egypt, perhaps by collecting images and information. We will encourage each child to share their knowledge with the class throughout this project.
We are looking forward to an excellent term of creativity.
